Kids should be allowed to have eftpos cards and I'm going to tell you why I feel so strongly about this issue.
Firstly, kids often tend to lose notes and coins. For example, if I lost notes or coin, someone could spend it, but an eftpos card has a pin on it so that person wouldn't be able to access the money. Secondly, a child can learn to be as responsible as an adult. for example, if a kid isn't trustworthy they shouldn't have an eftpos card, but if they are trustworthy, they should deserve to have one. Thirdly, they wouldn't have to carry as much in their wallet if they had an efpos card. For example, children might have a full wallet or purse, so their wallet would be easier to carry if they had an eftpos card. My last reason why kids should be allowed to have their own eftpos card is because it would give them responsibility. For example, if a child isn't responsible it would be a good and fun way to teach them how to be responsible. So ask yourself, would you've liked to have an eftpos card when you were a child? if you did, then let the kids of this generation have their own eftpos card.

Bayfield is a student hive of activity.
The sound of the crickets in summer overtake the school. The top of the climbing frame touches the clouds and you can't see the children's heads when they get to the top. If you look up in the Mini Beast, you will see a green carpet. At lunchtime you can see the super, sneaky, ninja pigeons stealing our lunches. That's Bayfield all right! Dear Diary,
Today was a very peculiar day. It was my turn to wrap a present, but Elfy took the paper off me! He wrapped up a box of water instead of an iPad. I called Santa immediately, and he took Elfy to 'Elf Jail' and said that he had to stay there for 6 weeks. Next, I looked over to where my best elf friend, Lucy, was working but instead of working she was getting bullied by Smile. When I walked over to them, Smile pushed me into a big, mud puddle. I was FURIOUS! I jumped out of the sticky puddle and reported this shocking news to my boss, Santa! Smile got sent to 'Elf Jail' like Elfy did and was also banned from leaving for 6 weeks. I went back to Lucy, but when I got back her whole face was covered with tears. I knew she was ticklish so I tickled her on the tummy. Her frown turned upside-down right away. I then checked my red and green, Christmas themed watch and saw that it was elf o-clock. (That means 12 o-clock in Elf Land). "We better get to sleep" I said. Lucy agreed so together we went to our room and turned off the light, and eventually drifted off to sleep. Sunny, summer days
Light winds blowing, birds chirping Spray on sun tan quick! Sand between my feet Turquoise, green and dark blue sea Summer's truly here! Kids are having fun, Parents are reading novels, They have a great time. Now it's time to leave, Walking away in their towels Heading home again! Dear John Key,
I think that it is unfair of you to ban Christmas in New Zealand and I'm going to tell you why! Firstly, most families have a scrumptious Christmas brunch or dinner, and it would be sad to not have that lovely food anymore. Secondly, Christmas is a tradition that has gone on for a VERY long time and everyone would be so disappointed and angry at you if you stopped this great day. Thirdly, Christmas only happens once a year, so it is a very special time. Also, since it's only once a year, most kids look forward to it all year. Another reason why you shouldn't take away Christmas, is because loads of kids go on holiday for Christmas to see their relatives, and relatives are very important people. The last reason I have on why you definitely should not ban Christmas in New Zealand, is because if you do, people will not vote for you in the next election, but if you still win they will leave New Zealand for as long as you are Prime Minister. So now that you've heard my reasons why it is a terrible idea that you ban Christmas in New Zealand, I hope you'll be rethinking the whole idea! From: Alice Sophia McKendry ROBOTS Film Review Directed By Chris Wedge Movie Reviewed By Alice McKendry Movie Rated PG11/16/2016 Rodney is a young robot who dreams of going to Robot City to be an inventor there, and meet his idol, Big-weld. When he eventually gets there he meets a robot called Fender. Together, they ride a roller coaster that leads them to the inventing building. He finds out that the replacement boss was evil, so he leaves the building immediately! Rodney and Fender spend the night in Fender's house. In the morning they go to Bigweld's workshop and find out that he doesn't invent things anymore. Rodney convinces him to keep inventing and never give up! The three robots set off to fire the replacement boss, Ratchet, and to get the inventing building back!
Watch the movie to find out if they get Bigweld's inventing building back and to see if you LOVE the movie as much as I did! Rodney is the main character in this movie, and he dreams of going to Robot City to be an inventor there, and to meet his idol, Bigweld. His Dad wanted to be a musician from the day he was born, but turned out to be a dishwasher for a fancy restaurant. Fender, Rodney's best friend, is red and he is very caring to everyone. He has a family of 5 including his robot dog. Ratchet is an evil replacement boss for Bigweld's inventing building and he absolutly HATES little, annoying robots. Ewan McGregor's voice was a very good match for the main character, Rodney. Bigweld's voice was played by Mel Brooks, and Fender's was played by Robin Williams. The evil replacement boss, Ratchet's voice was actually Greg Kinnears voice and Amanda Bynes' voice was used for the character Piper. My opinion is that this movie should be for any kids over the age of 5 and both girls and boys would enjoy it. Rodney keeps looking for Bigweld all throughout the movie. The suspence of whether Bigweld starts inventing things again and whether or not Rodney can show his idol his latest creation keeps on going. It is an all time GREAT kids film. This movie was released on the 10th of August, 2005 and it is an animation, comedy and action movie. I definitely think that the movie 'ROBOTS' deserves 4 and a half stars because it was really funny and adventurous! The ACB With Honora Lee
By Kate De Goli Book Review By Alice McKendry If you like adventure and mystery, then this isn't the right book choice for you. If you like the relationships between the old and the young, then this IS the right book for you. Perry's mother and father are very busy people, so they don't have much time for Perry. If she wants to get their attention, she has to shout really loudly. She finds out that she has a Gran living up the road, so she decides to go to her rest home every Thursday to write an alphabet book with her. Perry gets sick so she has to finish the book by herself. Read the book and find out what perry names her ABC book and also to find out what happens next. Perry is a very interesting girl. Her hobbies are: Collecting DEAD bees, hanging out with her Gran and writing books such as the books she writes with her Gran. I recommend this books to people around the age of 12 because it is quite a hard book to understand for people under that age. It is a book for both boys and girls, and even adults would enjoy it. I would give the book 1/2 a star because it was really hard for me to understand. My dream bedroom would be rectangle and 10 meters long and 8 meters wide. I would have mint wallpaper on my walls. When you walk into my room, my bed will be against the wall that you first see. My duvet would be mint, my sheets would be white and my pillows would be blue. At the end of my bed, I would have a REALLY comfortable light blue day chair with mint pillows on it. On a wall would be my desk with all my stationary and gymnastics things like guards and things on it. The chair for my desk would be a light blue spiny chair. Against another wall would be my grand, black piano and my microphone and stand. On the other wall would be my walk-in wardrobe and my HUGE bookshelf filled with books.
My carpet would be silver, and the fluffiest carpet in the world! In the middle of my DREAM bedroom would be uneven bars with a light blue supporting mat underneath. Next to that would be a trampoline with no nets around it. Overall my bedroom would be mint/gymnastics themed! Chapter 1
There once lived a twelve-year-old girl named Sally. One day she received an invitation to her friend Zoe's Birthday party at the art gallery. When she peered at the time and date of the party she was amazed. She thought the invite must have been late because she was supposed to turn up in one hour! She frantically ran around her house to find her phone. When she found it she called the taxi servos and in about ten minutes a taxi parked outside her door. She climbed in and it whizzed her off to the art gallery in no time. When she got to the party room, Zoe was standing there on her own. She said that everyone else was sick so it was just them. They started walking around the gallery and they were both amazed with all of the paintings and wondered how they could be so beautiful. When Sally got home she thought she might try some painting herself. She walked to the shops and bought some paints and some canvases then walked back to her house. When she got there she began to stroke her brush onto the canvas and in a few minutes her beautiful painting was finished. Chapter 2 Five years went by and by then Sally was a professional painter so she could now go to the art gallery to look at her own masterpieces. The next day, Sally strolled down to the shops to buy herself some new paints and canvases. When she got back to her house she opened the box of paints and ripped the cellophane off the canvas set. She took out one canvas, the paints and a brush. Sally had always dreamed of having her own black horse for a pet so she painted one with a leather saddle. When the painting was finally finished, she went over to her kitchen to make herself a coffee. When she came back to her painting she saw that it was moving. Suddenly it jumped out right out of the canvas altogether and there, standing beside her was her own black horse. She was so shocked to see that her painting had jumped right out of her canvas, but was also amazed that it had happened. Chapter 3 Right away Sally called her friend Zoe to tell her about the great news. Zoe was amazed and shocked just like Sally was. She gave Sally the idea of becoming a magician. At first Sally wasn’t so sure about the idea, but after a few minutes of thinking about it she felt more positive. Another five years went by and Sally went from being a professional painter, to a VERY popular magician. But then something happened. At one little kid’s birthday party, she painted the birthday girl a picture of a magic wand. But this time, when she finished the painting and stepped back to watch it pop out of the canvas, nothing happened. All of the little kids started shouting ‘This is a FAKE magician’ and ‘This party is rubbish!’. Sally was very confused, she had no idea why her paints had stopped making the paintings jump out of the canvases. At three o’clock in the afternoon she was back in her house. She thought all of her magician days were over, then suddenly a small fairy appeared in the air. She could just make out what she was saying. The small fairy told her that the reason that her magical paints had stopped working was because she had lost her magical tiara. She explained that if she does not have her magic tiara, all the magic in the world stops working until she gets it back. Chapter 4 Right away Sally offered to help the fairy get her tiara back, but first asked what her name was. The fairy said her name was Emerald and she would love Sally to help her find her loved tiara. When Sally asked if they could start looking now, Emerald told her the most important bit of all. She told her that they need to get it by midnight otherwise the world would never get its magic back again. The next day, Emerald showed Sally her map that told them where to find her tiara. It looked easy to get to their destination, but they both knew that it would definitely NOT be easy. They packed some lunch in a basket then set off in the direction that the map told them to. On the way, Sally asked Emerald who had her tiara. She told her that it was Matthew Menacing, she knew this because he was the only evil person in the land that Sally lived in. Chapter 5 Finally, they got to their destination, The Cave Of Ice. It was the name of Matthew Menacing’s hideout. Emerald was the only one who knew where it was because she was the leader of the fairies so she had access to everything. They decided not to knock on Matthew Menacing's door, because they knew that if they did he would not let them in. When they had been thinking for a while, Emerald came up with a brilliant plan. When she told Sally her plan, she was shocked. The plan was for Emerald to turn Sally into a fairy, then they could fly inside. So with a shake of her wand, Emerald turned Sally into the same size as she was. They hid on the ledge of the window and spied on Matthew Menacing and his workers. Matthew Menacing was ordering his workers to make a potion that killed anyone who drank it. When all of his workers marched away to begin making the potion, Matthew Menacing walked into the kitchen to fetch himself some coffee and a biscuit. Chapter 6 As soon as Matthew Menacing left the room, Emerald and Sally flew into his hideout. They started looking for the tiara, but suddenly Matthew Menacing entered the room again. His face was as red as a fire and he dropped his mug of coffee and he also dropped his half eaten biscuit. He was so mad, but also confused. He commanded them to tell him how they got in, but the two girls refused. Then for about five minutes the whole cave was silent. Finally, Emerald broke the silence. She was trying to convince Matthew Menacing to give her tiara back, and she said if he did, she would never come into his hideout ever again. Chapter 7 It didn’t take long for Matthew Menacing to realize he was being tricked. He did not take the deal, and shooed them out with a cane. When they were outside, he shut the window and locked it as tight as it could. Mathew Menacing thought they were gone for good as soon as they were out of sight. Obviously, he was wrong, because when he went to put his mug into the dishwasher, Emerald and Sally flew into his cave through his door. Matthew Menacing may be evil, but he is not clever at all. One of his weaknesses is closing the door. This may sound like a joke, but it is true. They soon found Emerald’s tiara, but when they flew to the door, the wind shut it. Normally it wouldn’t be a problem, but both girls were about five centimetres tall, so they did not have the strength to open the door. Chapter 8 Emerald turned Sally back into a human, so she could open the door for Emerald to fly out. When she tried to turn the handle of the door, she soon found out that it was locked. Emerald turned her back into a fairy, then Sally had another brilliant idea. Her idea was to fly in through the key hole. Emerald admitted that it was a smart idea, so in just a few seconds, they flew right into Matthew Menacing’s house once again, but suddenly they heard thumping. They both knew strait away that it was the sound of Matthew Menacing coming back. Emerald and Sally flew onto the windowsill, and watched the horrid man come back into his living room. They immediately saw the tiara tucked into the back pocket of his jeans, so when he turned around, they flew closer to him. He walked to the room where his workers were making his potion, so while he was there, the two girls flew to the door and eavesdropped on him. Chapter 9 It sounded like he was telling them to go outside to spy on them. “That’s not going to work,” whispered Sally. “Because they will be looking outside, and we are inside!” “Yeah, like they’re going to find us!” whispered Emerald sarcastically. After that, Matthew Menacing came back into his living room, and sat down on his chair. Luckily for Emerald and Sally, he was not facing the same way they were. This meant that one of them could try and grab the tiara, so all the magic in the world started working, and both girls would be able to get out of Matthew Menacing’s smelly cave! So, when the horrid man seemed relaxed, Emerald flew over to Matthew Menacing, and grabbed the tiara. Just then, he turned around and saw Sally with Emerald’s tiara. “HEY, GIVE IT BACK!!!” yelled Matthew Menacing. “IT’S NOT YOUR TIARA, SO WHY WOULD I GIVE IT BACK?” replied Sally in an angry tone. Chapter 10 Just then, Matthew Menacing grabbed the tiara from Sally and ran to his room. Sally flew in just before Matthew Menacing locked his door. But don’t worry, the fight had just begun! Sally tried to snatch her friend’s tiara from him, but her hands were very slippery from eating a chocolate bar on the way to The Cave Of Ice. Matthew Menacing leapt out of his window and shut it tight. Sally flew out of his room and told Emerald to go and get her tiara back. She flew out of the door and quickly glided over to Matthew Menacing. When he wasn’t looking, she grabbed the tiara and soared over the Sally. Together they made their way back to Sally’s house. When they got there, Emerald turned Sally back into a human and they both sat down, on the couch, for a rest. Sally offered Emerald a mug of hot chocolate, but then remembered her size. Just then, Sally’s phone rang, and when she answered it, she soon found out that it was her BFF, Zoe. She was asking Sally if she would like to come to the art gallery with her again, for a BIG arty with all their friends. Sally accepted the request, and when she heard that it was in 2 hours, she asked if Emerald could tag along with them. Chapter 11 When it was time for the party, Emerald turned Sally back into a fairy, because they would’ve been late if Sally walked and Emerald slowly flew. So, in about 3 minutes, the two girls were outside the art gallery. When they were both sure that the coast was clear, with a flick of her wand, Emerald, once again made Sally back into a human so they could enter the gallery together. Sally put Emerald into her pocket, so no-one would be able to see her. She also had mints in her pocket so she insisted that Emerald should try one. The party ended at 9:00 pm, so by the time the 2 friends got back to Sally’s house, they were both exhausted. Sally did say that Emerald should stay the night, but she said that she should be getting back to the fairy world so she could make all the magic in the world come back. So, the next day, when Sally tried to work her magic paints, she soon found out that Emerald had gotten home safely, because once again, her painting jumped right out of her sheet of paper. She once again was a normal human. (SORT OF!!!) The End!!! |
